Riho Furui, born 4 April 1991 in Hokkaido, Japan, is a Japanese singer‑songwriter whose early exposure to gospel and R&B shaped her musical direction. After studying piano from kindergarten and spending a year in Toronto to study English, she debuted as an indie artist in 2016 under the name Riho Furui with the single "Believe", drawing on her overseas experiences. Her breakout came with the 2019 digital single "Rebirth", which expanded her audience and led to increased activity, including radio hosting and live performances. In 2022 she released her first full‑length album Green Light through Loa Music, followed by the EP Love One Another on 3 April 2024 under Pony Canyon, featuring the track "LOA" (an abbreviation for the album title). The single "Hello" (30 July 2025) served as the opening theme for the anime series City: The Animation, marking her first anime tie‑up. Subsequent singles-"Pink Hair" (15 February 2023), "Super Star" (10 May 2023), "Psycho" (16 August 2023), "Loa" (22 November 2023), "Sapporo Tokyo" (6 March 2024), "MONSTER" (2 April 2025), and "HARD MODE" (4 February 2026)-demonstrate a steady output and growing presence in contemporary R&B and soul. One of the tracks from the album, Letter (2026), "Taiyo ni naretara" was a main theme song of the film, Shinigami Barber.
