Yvonnick Prené, a French jazz harmonica player and recording artist, was born in Paris. He began his musical journey as a guitarist before transitioning to the diatonic harmonica and eventually settling on the chromatic harmonica. At age 17, Prené started performing in Parisian clubs and later pursued formal education at Sorbonne University, earning a master's degree in music in 2011. During his studies, he relocated to New York City, where he received multiple full-tuition scholarships from institutions such as The City College of New York, Columbia University, and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Prené has collaborated with numerous artists including Geoffrey Keezer, Bill Stewart, and Dayna Stephens. He released his debut album Jour de fête in 2013 followed by Merci Toots in 2015. Prené is also the founder of the New York Harmonica School and a Hohner Ambassador. In 2025, he released Un Harmonica pour Django under Minor Major Music.
