Southern Gothic - Americana - Instrumental - Primitive - Folk
I stay pretty close to my roots: The vibe of the Appalachians, the Soul and Blues of Memphis and Macon, the Voices of Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, the Guitars of Jerry Garcia, Link Wray and Duane Allman (not a complete list mind you). They all seem to blend into my version of Southern Gothic and Americana music.
Looking back I'd say that 2020 had some good things happen with 7 new songs and many new friends. 2 Singles, 'Death Came By To See Me Yesterday' & 'Paw Paw Patch', were produced by longtime friend & Grammy winning producer Mark Neill (Charley Crockett, Black Keys) for 'Soil of the South Sessions'. 5 more singles were released on the self-produced ‘Susquehanna Dream' EP, a set of story songs inspired by growing up in the Susquehanna River Valley & Northern Appalachians.
2021 is steady rolling with the release of 'Magnolia' and More Songs, Projects and Collaborations in the works. I'm also filling the guitar slinger spot with the mighty Steve Baskin band. The gig calendar is filling fast and we have just started writing for another album and will be working some new tunes into the live shows.
