Chris Murray, born September 26, 1966, in Toronto, Ontario, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his work primarily in the ska genre. He began his career as a member of the Canadian ska band King Apparatus during the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1996, Murray released his debut solo album 4-Track Adventures of Venice Shoreline Chris. Throughout his career, he has released several notable albums, including 4-Trackaganza! (2001) and Raw (2002). He has collaborated with various artists, notably The Slackers on the album Slackness, which featured new arrangements of his solo material. Murray has performed extensively across North America, Europe, Japan, Korea, and South America, sharing stages with acts such as The Specials and Laurel Aitken. His live shows are known for their informal atmosphere, often determined by audience requests.
