The band was born in Italy founded by Salvatore Spanò, guitarist, and Nicola Contin, lead singer and guitarist. Suddenly it was realized that music is an expression of the inner being, so the decision to write new stuff was promptly taken.
After a couple of months, Maestro Tiziano De Bernardi, joined the duo. Few months later, Nicola Del Re, a young drummer, joined the band. Recently De Bernardi has left the band and Luca Rogantini joined in.
Spare Bricks are trying to create visionary landscapes coming out from real images or facts of real life, as if the music could be a tool for fixing images in the brain. A kind of keepsake. The Lyrics are joint together following a narrative scheme but offering a wide range of liberty toward other directions that are crossing the main theme, creating a multidimensional narration. Even the music is created following these scheme. In fact the songs are characterized by different musical styles, even in the same tune, because of our musical background. The strong influence of the progressive rock, the jazz liveliness and the aggressiveness of the modern rock are sometimes mixed up to create whirling changes in every single tune. There are psychedelic synths, clawing hard guitars become funky sparkling. Fast punk rock moments are in and heavy introductions become soft and gentle rock ballads. This is the way the band is used to work to try to create visionary landscapes and to put emotions and feelings into the recordings.
