Stygian Crown is a doom metal band from Los Angeles, Southern California, formed in 2018 by drummer Rhett Davis. The band's initial lineup included Nelson Miranda on guitar and Jason Thomas on bass. Stygian Crown released their debut demo Through Divine Rite in 2018, which featured three tracks and garnered attention within the metal community. They signed with Cruz del Sur Music prior to recording their self-titled debut album, Stygian Crown, which was released on June 26, 2020. The album was well-received internationally and showcased a blend of epic doom and death metal influences. In February 2024, Stygian Crown followed up with their second full-length album, Funeral for a King, which highlighted the band's unique sound and lyrical themes rooted in ancient mythology and history.
