Naer Mataron was a Greek black metal band formed in 1994 after a split from Nar Mataron. The group's early demos, Tales of the Twelve Gods (1994) and The Awakening of Ancient Greece (1995), established their mythological themes. Their debut studio album, Up from the Ashes, was released in 1998, followed by Skotos Aenaon (2000) and the EP A Holocaust in Front of God's Eyes (2001). Their subsequent releases include River at Dash Scalding (2003), Discipline Manifesto (2005), and Praetorians (2008), the latter released under the Season of Mist label. The band opened for major acts such as Mayhem and Rotting Christ, and their performances include the Asgardsrei festival in 2017. Their later discography includes the EPs Εγώ ειμί το φώς του κόσμου (2012) and Naergal (2013), the studio album ΖΗΤΩ Ο ΘΑΝΑΤΟΣ (2012), and the 2018 release Lucitherion "Temple of the Radiant Sun".
