Head in the stars, heart full of grand melodies, and feet firmly on the ground – yet always just one step away from the edge. After seven years of silence, the iconic Basel band returns to the stage, delivering fresh new material alongside their most beloved classics.
The Lovebugs first burst onto the scene over thirty years ago. Since then, they've captivated audiences with over a thousand concerts, playing renowned stages like Open Air St. Gallen, Gurtenfestival, and Montreux Jazz Festival. They have also thrilled fans at international venues such as Grosse Freiheit in Hamburg, Dingwalls in London, and Los Angeles' famed Viper Room. Highlights of their journey include opening for The Rolling Stones and collaborating with the Basel Symphony Orchestra.
Their commercial breakthrough came in 1999 with the single "Under My Skin." From that point on, all their albums reached the Swiss Album Charts' Top 10, with three securing the number one spot. International success followed with hits like "Avalon" and "The Highest Heights."
After celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2018, the band took a pause. During the hiatus, frontman Adrian Sieber produced two solo albums, and bassist Florian Senn joined Züri West from Bern to release the critically acclaimed Loch dür Zyt. Now, joined by new bandmates Matthias Gusset (keyboards), Manuel Meisel (guitar), and Philipp Gut (drums), The Lovebugs are back in the studio, writing the next chapter of their storied history.
