In the recent past, friends of highly emotional, driving techno have rubbed their eyes in wonder as they witnessed what this young guy burned down at the decks, be it at the SonneMondSterne Festival or infamous clubs like the Docks in Hamburg, the Bootshaus in Cologne or the Oil Drum Warehouse/Ritter Butzke in Berlin. It was so incredibly energetic, thrilling, and special every time, that a closer look at the lineup was a must.
And then there was always: LEVT
Of which one can already say that he is one of the highest traded shooting stars in the scene. But no wonder, because electronic music has absorbed the Jena-based DJ and producer almost with breast milk. Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers were the first inspirations, the Katermukke universe marked the next musical fixture. Since he was 16 years old, he spends every spare second on the turntables to define his sound more and more, but then he also had to do the higher school certificate and show his performance as a soccer player in the A-Juniors Bundesliga, the highest youth league in Germany.
But the heart belongs to the music, which is why, after the great enthusiasm that his DJing evokes, LEVT’s logical next step was to immerse himself in producing. The result is his debut EP “The Beast” on Voltage Records in 2019. And reveals – as the title suggests – the impetuous, angry facet of his person. This is emphasized even more by the additional remix of Felix Kröcher. In 2021 he landed two hits on Spotify with both "You" and „Vibrant“ (Alaula Music), which got out into the wider world via Spotify's editorial playlists. Within a few short months, Vibrant racked up over half a million streams and charted #1 on Itunes Techno: Brazil. In 2022, his single Interference, also released on the Hamburg-based label Alaula Music, hit the Beatport Techno Hype Charts and stayed there for over 10 days.
