Walk down any street in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Flatbush, and you’ll meet somebody who knows Badda TD. Long before amassing 60 million streams and 29 million YouTube views independently, the 18-year-old rapper cemented himself as a pillar of his community. Hailing from the Raleigh Place in Brooklyn NY, he shared an apartment with his mother, father, grandmother, and uncle. Even in those close quarters, he felt a lot of love at home. It’s also where he discovered music. Not long after he turned six, his father caught a 50-year prison sentence alongside most of the block. Mom held down multiple jobs and often didn’t eat in order to feed her son. So, he turned to hip-hop to make a change. In December 2018, he unveiled his first song and video “Got No Time.” On its heels, he caught fire with 2019’s “Picture I Paint.” Fortnite mega-star FaZe Sway utilized it in a video, fueling a viral explosion. Eventually, it raked in 24.7 million Spotify streams and 12 million YouTube views. He maintained the momentum as “Gang” posted up 17.6 million Spotify streams and 5 million YouTube views. Receiving critical acclaim, Elevator raved, “Badda TD is quickly ascending out of Brooklyn.” Now, he does his hometown proud with confident and catchy bars, magnetic melodies, and effortless star power. All of these elements shine on his 2021 debut EP, The Prince of Flatbush.
