Raphael Sommer is a multi-award-winning Swiss producer and composer, best known for his film music and soundtracks. Born in Basel in 1989, he debuted in 2013 with the documentary Schweizer Geist. He has since composed for films like Camino de Santiago (2015) and Der weisse Hirsch vom Gantrisch (2019).
In addition to composing, Sommer also produces projects, including music videos, radio dramas, and documentaries. His Requiem (2017), conducted by Florian Kirchhofer, was highly successful in Switzerland. In 2022, his classical concert Dimension, also led by Kirchhofer, received high praise.
Sommer has won several international awards, including "Artist of the Year" at the International Youth Music Competitions in New York (2023) and an honorary award at the Tagore International Film Festival (2024) for Glass World Project - Nature & Human. His music spans from film scores to orchestral and epic fantasy soundtracks.
His next project, X-Mysteries: Ancient Egypt & Forensic Mysteries (Sept. 2024), is a collaboration with Dr. Mark Benecke, Björn Pankratz, Bianca Stücker, and others, blending music and narrative.
