Ioio, like an echoing vowel. A reference to Io, daughter of a river god, whom Zeus one day metamorphosed into a cow. After a long journey, Io finally regained human form, taking charge of her own destiny. Her legend evokes a desire for reincarnation, a powerful need to find oneself. Carrying these symbols in her heart, Ioio proposes a sensitive musical journey, following the intimate cycle of her emotions transformed into songs.
Guiding the sound of her electronic instruments, she connects the candor of her voice to the robotic sound of her machines, offering an electro live-set mixed with a pop concert. She sings on stage a poetry with mechanical and sparkling accents, also present in her clips, strong vectors of her strong universe.
Self-taught on the processes of composition and computer music, Ioio has been trained in lyrical and jazz singing since she was 13 years old. Inspired by L'Impératrice, Björk or Kid Francescoli among others, she creates music with hybrid shades: pop songs with insightful text combine with ambient and electro.
Her first EP "Inflorescence" is scheduled for March 2021, preceded by the release of two clips with quirky aesthetics: "Fusée", with an astonishing silvery outfit that calls out, and "Nuit" where we find our heroine as a river nymph... as an echo to Io?
