Marco Carluccio: Vocals/Keyboards and Johnny Pizzuto: Keyboards/Composer
Nemesy is an Italian musical duo formed by Marco Carluccio and Johnny Pizzuto. Just as Paris was captivated by the legendary Aphrodite’s Child in 1968, Nemesy was discovered in Athens in 1980 by none other than Vangelis Papathanassiou, a founding member of Aphrodite’s Child. With this auspicious start, the duo set their sights on conquering Europe. After relocating to Italy, they quickly gained the attention of prestigious labels such as Bootlegs, CGD, and EMI, who were eager to include them in their rosters.
The duo collaborated with Paolo Bocchi, a renowned sound engineer who had previously worked with icons like Vasco Rossi, Mina, and Celentano. Their early work was showcased on the compilation album Masterone, which also featured tracks by Stevie Wonder.
Their debut release, I Wanna Dance (1984), arranged by Marcello Quartarone of Circus 2000 fame, was crafted to align with the cutting-edge standards of dance music at the time, incorporating avant-garde technical effects that were ahead of their era. Mixed in Paris, the track achieved immense success across Europe, bolstered by the support of influential "godfathers" from the music world.
The duo went on to record an album and several notable singles and mixes, including Arabian Sacrifice, Touch, You Can You Can, and We Play The Music.
