Christine Parker is a songwriter based in Southern California. Drawing on such musical influences as Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Brandi Carlile, and Shawn Colvin, Parker’s pure voice, authentic lyrics, and catchy melodies hook the listener from the first note.
Parker began playing piano at the early age of 4 when her parents noticed her affinity for all things music. She fell in love with songwriting as a teenager after composing her first song on the guitar and continued to write and play music as she pursued education and a career in psychology.
After realizing music and songwriting needed to become more center stage, Parker relocated back to Southern California to focus on her music career. The result was a full-length studio album, “Looking Glass,” produced by Marti Amado.
Parker later teamed up with Breedlove Guitars and AEA Ribbon Microphones and spent 5 weeks in the UK creating a travel-based music video series entitled “The Chapel Sessions.” Parker produced and filmed these recording sessions in centuries-old English churches using a single ribbon microphone and a GoPro.
Parker also ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund “Between You & Me,” her 3rd album release. Working with Austin-based producer Masen Larsen, the 5-song EP has received noteworthy accolades. The lead-off track “‘Til the End” charted on US college radio in the top 30, and “Shine” earned her a spot as a finalist for Best Female Artist in the International Acoustic Music Awards.
Parker has numerous song placements in film and network television, both on a national and international level. Most notably, her song “Magic With You” co-written with Marti Amado, was placed on a Mitsubishi commercial that aired in Taiwan and has since received 7 million views on YouTube.
