With hits such as Gooi jou arms om my, Vir Jou and Hoe wys ‘n man se hart, Vaughan Gardiner has long since established himself as a top musician, songwriter, singer, actor and producer.
Vaughan’s long anticipated second single, Sit vanaand op herhaal, was released during February 2015 and did not disappoint. It’s been at the top of radio station charts such as GrootFM, Bok Radio, Bosveld Stereo, Radio Helderberg, Maroela Media, Suid-Kaap FM and many others for more than eighteen weeks. The new single also features on his brand new album with the same title that has just been released.

Sit vanaand op herhaal is about a once-in-a-lifetime experience that happens on one perfect evening.
With a foot-stomping rhythm that is perfect for the dance floor, the song tells the story of man who falls in love with a girl and suddenly every love song’s lyrics makes sense to him and all he wishes is that this evening, like a scene out of a movie, repeats itself over and over again. The music video will be released shortly.
Vaughan was born in 1987 in Johannesburg but spent most of his childhood in the Cape. His love for music started at a young age and learnt how to play piano and the electric and acoustic guitar. At the age of 16, Vaughan was cast in his first theatre role in Oedipus the Tyrant. In the same year, he caught the attention of Mozi Records and six years later, after acquiring his BAcc Degree from the University of Stellenbosch, he began working with Sean Else and Johan Vorster on his debut album. Wie Ek Is was released in 2009.
He also started writing songs and playing guitar for many well-known artists including Izak Davel, Riaan Grobler, Bok van Blerk, Lianie May, Jannie Moolman, Kayla and David Fourie, to name a few. In 2009 he was nominated for a Huisgenoot Tempo and Vonk Award; he was chosen as one of the top ten artists of 2009 on one of the Vaal hit radio stations and his single, Ver van jou, placed 6th on the Radio Rippel charts.
In 2010 he received the MK award for Best Solo Artist – an award for which he was nominated for again in 2011. In 2010 he clinched the lead role in the musical, Jock of the Bushveld, for which he received a Naledi Theatre Award nomination. In 2011 he played the lead role in Deon Opperman’s musical Tree Aan!: Die Grensoorlog musiekblyspel”. Later that year he got a lead role in local film, Platteland, where he also wrote the theme song which was sung by Steve Hofmeyr and Bok van Blerk.
Vaughan was also in the kykNET drama series, Hartland¸ as Gerhard Naude. In 2012, he played in the musical Lied van my hart, where he also composed the theme song. In the same year, he also appeared in the hit kykNET series, Getroud met Rugby.
On top of these achievements, Vaughan Gardiner has written songs for the likes of Steve Hofmeyr, Bok van Blerk, Lianie May, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Nicholis Louw, Kurt Darren, Elizma Theron, Nàdine, Kayla, Andriette Norman, David Fourie, Izak Davel, Riaan Grobler, Dirk van der Westhuizen, Karen Ferreira and Willem Botha.
In 2013, Vaughan was the music producer and director for the teen series, Liefste Kayla. He also played the role of Koos Kombuis in the theatre piece, Kytie – ‘n Koos Kombuis Storie. His second album, Hoe wys ‘n man sy hart was released in September 2012.
His latest album will be released in April 2015 and includes hits like Jou hart klop in my ritme, Sit vanaand op herhaal and a few delightful surprises.
Vaughan has also recently completed his Post Graduate in Intellectual Property Law with Cum Laude at the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently living in Johannesburg where he has joined the team of Muse Productions with Hugo Ludik from the hit group, ADAM.
