Montreal pop vocalist and songwriter, December Rose, is taking the next step in her journey as an artist with the release of her new album Raise Your Voice. The songs of the album reflect the challenges December Rose has dealt with over her life thus far and her path to finding the courage to speak up about them without feeling hostage to shame.
Despite writing songs since she was 16, the artist admits her struggles with curating a complete album. “Growing up…I took in whatever I heard on the radio. I didn't know anything about listening to an album from cover to cover and appreciating concepts”, explains December. “It felt like a challenge, to sum up my life experiences in 10 songs for the album, but looking at it now, I think it's a good starting point”. The artist’s wish for the project is that it gives listeners comfort in their own pain, encouragement to reflect, and motivation to seek change.
Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, December Rose has been working on her craft since she was a child. In addition to over 15 years of formal musical/vocal training and a degree in classical voice performance, she is also an experienced and self-taught songwriter. December earned two silver medals for her exemplary abilities and in-depth understanding of proper vocal mechanics during her time as a student of the Royal Conservatory of Music. December Rose’s extensive studies have helped her develop a system and pathway to assisting others as a private vocal coach— a role she has taken on for over nine years now.
