Soultrack - Mas Álla Del Ser
The band originally started in the midst of 2013, formed by Gabriel
Restrepo (Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals), Giovanny Ruiz (Rhythm Guitar),
Jaime Duran, (Keyboards), Francisco Tway (Bass and Lead Vocals), and
Alberth Mahecha (Drums). Through the second half of 2014 Soultrack
featured the collaboration of some guest musicians such as Stephany (Lyric
Voice) who helped the band explore and restate their melodic elements
gearing towards a solid and stronger sound, she was a performer in the
band’s second concert as backing vocals. In a similar manner the bass
player Mauricio Díaz also made a significant contribution in said concert as
he played the bass while Francisco Tway stepped in as lead guitar for
Gabriel Restrepo who was suffering health issues that forced him to quit
temporarily.
Towards the end of 2014 Alberth Mahecha decides to leave the band and half a
year later in 2015 Giovanni also drops out of the project. This is when Ricardo
Farfán becomes the new drummer, Mauricio Diaz decides to become a permanent
member and Francisco Tway stays on the guitar.
During 2016 gives a throwback to collaboration from other musicians. In this
opportunity Maria Fernanda Peña performed the backing vocals for the live shows,
and Wilmer Porras (Exiled guitarrist) took on the role of lead guitar for the live
shows. At the end of 2016 Nicolas Bojacá officially joins the band as the new guitar
player.
As of today the band continues to work with additional musicians for their live
shows recently doing this with Francisco Cuevas (Sanctuarium, Agorar) on the Violin
and Andres Triana on the Cello.
Soultrack’s music is mostly influenced by Doom, Death and Gothic while trying to
head their sound towards more symphonic elements. The song lyrics are focused
on talking about despair, death, fractured humanity and the self-awareness of a
being through the experience with his surroundings.
On February 2015 the first demo titled "El Rastro del Alma" was recorded.
This demo shows the musical interests of the band and the structure of
sound it’s looking for. With the flow of time these compositions kept
growing and new arrangements were added with the intention of obtaining
a more symphonic sound and a cleared harmony. Collaboration with other
musicians for backing vocals was reduced without leaving completely aside
female voices. This change resulted in a wider participation from the
members Nicolas Bojaca and Mauricio Diaz who would now take care of
backing vocals.
On February 2017, Soultrack participated in the "Festival Metal de las
Montañas" in Colombia. This show was recorded and the material was used
for the EP titled "Mundo Errante" which was released on December 2017.
The EP is made up of 6 tracks. 2 tracks were recorded on a studio with a
reduced orchestral arrangement. This tracks will be released again in the
upcoming LP with the full arrangements. 2 tracks are live recordings from
the "Festival Metal de las Montañas". One track is a live recording from the
show "Exporock" 2017 and finally a live recording from December 2016.
Soultrack has been working constantly throughout these years with the sole
purpose of creating music for everyone to enjoy without forgetting that
music is not the only element a band should focus. Soultrack also creates a
show and makes a performance that within itself holds a story carefully
forged together with their songs.
Soultrack will keep on working constantly, writing and recording more and
more songs with extreme care and dedication to release a high quality
product that will be liked and enjoyed by all the fans of Rock and Metal.
