Satellite Stories are, Esa Mankinen (vocals/guitar), Marko Heikkinen (lead guitar), Jyri Pesonen (Bass/vocals) and Olli-Pekka Ervasti (drums). Hailing from the northern outpost of Oulu, Finland. Live their energetic show has given them a growing reputation as an amazing party band - the audience drives the band, as the band drives the audience, through a packed can of powerful Indie pop.
In August 2012 with a sold out Japanese tour under their belts, Satellite Stories were said to be the 2nd most blogged artist in the world according to the Hype Machine. All this a full two months before they released their first record. After the roaring success of the bands debut album “Phrases to Break the Ice” Released October 2012, an extensive European tour followed.
“Pine Trails” the upcoming second studio album to be released November 1st, is a record where a band have found their sound. Self produced and self recorded the album sessions begun in the Swedish countryside in January of 2013, with only a field of horses as a neighbours, the days spent filled with long jaunts in the snow filled pine forests, nigh fell, and attention turned to writing and recording. The album was born.
Sweden moved onto session in London and Manchester and ended in the bands decommissioned nuclear bunker turned Studio in northern Finland culminating in 10 stories of growing up, love lost and near misses.
Packed audiences over summer Festival appearances that included the Dot to Dot Festival tour in the UK, Spain´s Arenal Sound, Finland's Flow Festival, Sweden's Hultsfred Festival and Holland's Lowlands provided the platform toshowcase the new material.
The bands music and live performance have been praised by music magazines and blogs alike.
