Rapallo is a Montreal-based indie pop duo. The band's playful duet vocals and provocative, world-building lyrics have already earned them a cult following. Their songwriting partnership and smooth vocal harmonies evoke 70s AOR heavyweights like Steely Dan and Hall & Oates, and Fleetwood Mac. Their production draws inspiration from Prince, Sade, and Prefab Sprout.
The band is set to release their debut album this fall, with new music that explores the weirder side of yacht rock, synth funk, and experimental pop. In addition to the band's own mix of disco bass, sleazy guitars, and cartoonish synths, the upcoming record will feature saxophone contributions from Destroyer-alumnus Joseph Shabason.
Rapallo's debut single, "Fine Living," came out via Records in 2020. The song's darkly comical lyrics, smooth production, and pop hooks made for a perfect introduction. The duo released their debut EP, "You Were Born to Drive This Car" in 2022. Poised to release their most ambitious project yet, Rapallo is looking forward to sharing the first single on their debut full-length album via Unbelievably Spectacular.
