Moritz Winkelmann – Prize Winner at the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn and one of the most expressive pianists and of his generation – is performing around the globe and performed with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, the New York Classical Players, the Lower Saxony State Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestras of Cologne and Kurpfalz and the Peabody Symphony among others. He shared the stage with illustrious personaIities such as Itzhak Perlman, Wolfram Christ, Stefan Blunier and Helmut Lachenmann. On his permanent musical journey, his musicianship has been described as „powerful, capable of the most profound sincerity“ and „full of soul“.
His victory at the Richard-Laugs-Beethoven-Competition led to his debut performance at the Rheingau Festival. International appearances have included Carnegie Hall New York, Beethovenhalle Bonn, Slovac Philharmonic Hall in Bratislava, Rosengarten Mannheim, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Munetsugu Hall Nagoya, and Beethovenhaus Bonn. Moritz Winkelmann has toured Europe, the United States, China and Japan and appeared at the prestigious Schwetzingen, Schleswig-Holstein and Ravinia festivals.
Moritz studied with the legendary Leon Fleisher. He is now working himself with young artists at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and leads his own concert series „Klassik im Klösterle“.
