Tandra is a Brazilian Folk Metal band founded in 2013, but only in 2018 with solid formation and purposes, released their first singles Open the Bar and Time and Eternity, the latter reaching more than 300 thousand streamings on Spotify (a brand that would later be surpassed by more than 650,000 of “Marching to Infinity”). With passages through several festivals, sharing the stage with great Brazilian bands like ANGRA, Krisiun and Tuatha de Danann, the band was building their image and getting mature for the release of their first album.
Released digitally on October 18th, 2019, Time and Eternity introduces us to a very efficient band, daring to navigate waters rarely explored in his country of origin, fed by several springs that flow into it from the more traditional Folk Metal of bands like Ensiferum and Korpiklaani, to those who flirt with the most extreme music like Finntroll and Moonsorrow.
For those who associate folk music only with the dancing melodies of the mandolin and the bouncy whistling of a flute, you should know that by mixing with the fury of heavy metal, the sound is fueled with massive doses of strong and raw energy, from warriors used to falling in front of a few barrels of ale, but never in front of their enemies.
The repercussion of the album raised expectations about a music video of the band. With due preparation and a grandiose production, in 2021 Tandra could finally release their first audiovisual work, the video for “Marching to Infinity”.
