Anak Borneo is an independent songwriter and music producer that previously a vocalist from Kitai Anak Borneo (KAB), a band that make mandarin music with sarawakian cultural fusion.
Music genre of Anak Borneo are mainly contemporary music (rock, country and world) and local traditional music fusion. The contents of Anak Borneo’s songs are mostly related to culture, daily life and local current issues.
Anak Borneo is founded by Evan Lee, a Sarawakian songwriter, music producer and music arranger. On 11th August 2017, he was the only sarawakian finalist who won the champion of patriotic songwriting competition at Kuala Lumpur altogether with best lyrics award and best music arrangement award by his song, “Who are You, Who am I”, a song infused with orang ulu traditional instrument, sape and malay folk song “lenggang kangkung”.
Afterward, Anak Borneo published his award winning song, “Who are You, Who am I” on 2017 Malaysia Day and “Song of Durian” on December of the same year completed in his YouTube Channel. Both of the songs received more than 30k of view on YouTube and have chance to shine under spotlight of Taiwanese media.
On 31st of May 2020, Yise Loo’s song “Ode to The Tree” featuring Anak Borneo been released and became top music on AiFM.
Anak Borneo has actively performing at music festivals, organising music and culture sharing, and producing music.
