Tori Sparks was born in Chicago, later lived and recorded in Nashville, and has been based in Barcelona, Spain, for the past 13 years. She founded her own label, Glass Mountain Records, in 2007. Known as a force of nature onstage, she plays an average of 150 concerts each year and has toured in 24 countries, including festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) and the festival Jardins Pedralbes (Spain). Her last four albums are a surprising mix of her native folk, rock, blues and roots music with flamenco fusion, called "a flawless fusion of styles" (La Vanguardia), "adventurous, pushing the envelope" (Rolling Stone), and “pure art” (Los Conciertos de Radio3).
Her songs have since been heard in countless commercials and television series, most recently in the hit Netflix series SkyRojo. Last year, Tori was one of three artists selected to represent Spain in the international music export program, Global Music Match, which featured artists from 17 countries on four continents. She is also a sought-after artistic producer and public speaker. She has produced or co-produced albums for The Mothercrow, Richard White, Alma de Boquerón, and others, and and has presented talks and panels at music conferences such as SXSW, WOMEX, PrimaveraPro, ThisIsMusic, and more.
Right now, Tori and her band are touring behind not one, but two separate live shows: El Mar Electric and Roots Music Revival. They will be on the road with concerts presenting both projects throughout 2024, while preparing for their next studio album release in 2025.
Sparks is also known for giving back to the community through music, and has organized and performed at numerous benefit concerts Tori is known as an activist for music education, artists’ rights and human rights.
She has been endorsed by D'Addario Strings since 2007 and Thembe Fashions since 2016.
