Juan Carlos Hurtado, artistically known as "El Andariego," is a renowned Colombian singer, musician, and composer in the popular music genre (or, as it is colloquially called, "Despecho"). He was born on March 20, 1968, in the Alto de San Francisco village, Santander de Quilichao, Cauca, Colombia. From an early age, he was immersed in a musical environment that, along with his work in the countryside, served as inspiration for his artistic career.
At 18, he moved to Cali, where he began his musical journey as a member of the group "Los Emigrantes." Later, he stood out as an arranger for the Colombian singer-songwriter Sacha, contributing to the hit song Mándale una carta.
As a solo artist, El Andariego has released songs that have become cantina anthems, such as Amor Malsano, La Foto de Los Dos, La Puerta Está Abierta, Borracho La Embarré, and Amor Oculto. His unique style and ability to interpret songs that reflect the experiences and emotions of the Colombian people have allowed him to deeply connect with diverse audiences.
