The industry first began to take notice of Blanko when he started posting freestyle remix versions of his favorite artists' songs to social media. These artists quickly noticed Blanko's talent and became his early fans. In little more than a year of posting his remixes, Blanko has been promoted by Latin music heavy-hitters like Sech, Lunay, Alex Rose and J Quiles.
Blanko is the first artist from Ecuador to gain the notice of the international Latin music industry. His talent crafting clever, non-traditional lyrics has Blanko being compared to one of his biggest inspirations: Sech. Inspired by The Kid Laroi and Lunay, Blanko fits in with the new generation of rappers/reggaetoneros whose lyrics and tracks bridge the divide between pop, hip hop and reggaeton.
Growing up in Quito, Ecuador, Blanko was inspired by many different genres of music, from American Pop to Reggaeton. Writing songs since he was a child, and now at only 18-years-old, Blanko has already shaped his own unique musical viewpoint that combines clever and sophisticated lyrics with catchy tracks.
A prolific songwriter, Blanko says, "when I get an idea for a song, I can't stop until it perfectly becomes the song I hear in my head." His desire for perfection does not allow Blanko to settle for anything but the best, as his debut single, "Mala Seña" shows. The song was inspired by a break-up and his response to it, which was to be disillusioned by love and give it the middle finger. "Mala Seña" is an urban pop song that immediately grabs the listener by the ear and does not let go.
With more releases planned for 2022, "Mala Seña" is just the first of many amazing songs to come from Blanko.
