Nico Dey was raised in a French-American family in Paris and was deeply shaped by his parents’ passion for music and art. With a classical pianist father and a ballerina mother, he was immersed in a world of creative expression from an early age. After stumbling upon Nirvana’s “In Utero”, Nico felt the call to pick up the guitar. During these years, he honed his craft and began writing his own songs. Moving to New-York City and Buenos Aires during his college years, he expanded his musical horizons and joined and Afro-Punk band from Brooklyn, La Raza Caotica.
Drawing from influences such as Neil Young, The White-Stripes, Jeff Buckley and Brian Jonestown Massacre, Nico developed a distinct sound characterized by incisive riffs and raw vocals. He later launched his solo career under the name Nico Dey, performing in venues across the globe.
His First EP “Corpse of Kimbro” is set for release the 8th of April 2024. Recorded live, this EP showcase a new range of sounds, blending convincing melodies, transcendent rhythms, octave-fuzz riffs and crystalline guitars. Looking ahead, an LP is planned to follow the EP release, marking a significant and continued evolution in his musical journey.
