Spring 1995, Sohland/Spree in Upper Lusatia: Seven young musicians are coming together for the first time to rehearse in the attic. They look quite different from their age-mates and after rehearsal, they are having fun mocking the eurodance hits at the village disco. Inspired by their idols, The Black Crowes, they quickly come up with their future band name, "The Remedies". The first concerts in the region and performances with the Lausitz cult band Shawue allow the fan base to grow quickly. In 1997, the band makes it to the Saxon finals of the 1st F6 Music Award. In early 1997, they release their first tape "Things", and some pieces appear on the soundtrack of the indie film "In einem anderen Land". Their first CD, "Candles & Beer", follows in November 1998. The Remedies play with changing drummers until autumn 2003 and share the stage with, among others, Echt and Udo Lindenberg. The third album "Magnetic Boots", recorded in 2003, remains unreleased, but will soon be released as a remaster on djummi records.
