Saxophonist, flutist, composer and arranger, with a degree in Music, specialization in Saxophone and Composition from UFRJ. He began to deal with music at the age of 9, when he exchanged the games of his age for the company of an old guitar of his father. With him, he spent hours playing and reproducing the songs he heard on the radio.
At an early age, he began to compose and participate in student festivals where he was always awarded as the best instrumentalist, having won student festivals in this category, as a guitarist and also as a composer.
At the age of 18 he began to play the guitar and sing in bars in Rio de Janeiro.
Later, at Instituto Villa-Lobos, he began studying music theory and began studying transverse flute with David Evans.
He continued studying at Pró-Arte, where he did Functional Harmony, with Luis Otávio Braga and Saxophone, with Clóvis Guimarães, at Musiarte, he did Functional Harmony, with Isidoro Kutno and Saxofone, with Ricardo Rent and at CIGAM he did improvisation with Rafael Vernet and Nélson Faria.
He studied saxophone (jazz improvisation) with Idriss Boudrioua.
He was a saxophone and flute teacher at the following schools: Angellus, Musimundi, CIGAM and Intermúsica.
After playing with some artists (Gonzaguinha, Alceu Valença, Oswaldo Montenegro, João Donato, Wanda Sá, Carlos Malta, Victor Biglione and others) and small orchestras, including UFRJazz, he released his first album in 1993, an instrumental called “AS PIPAS”, with his own compositions.
In 1997, he was one of the founders of the samba-jazz group NO OLHO DA RUA, where he works as a composer, arranger and instrumentalist. With the group, he produced and recorded 6 CDs, the last of them (Samba-jazz 40º) with the co-production and text of Ruy Castro, in addition to 1 DVD.
In 2013, he released his second authorial CD, “COMPOR”, released by Tratore and which received much praise from the specialized critics. In 2022, he releases his third album “ALUCINATIONS MUSICAL”, with compositions for: saxophone quartet; string Quartet; trio piano, clarinet and cello.
